Frances Grace
FARMER, FORMULATOR, FLOWER FANATIC
Frances was called to this land in 2023 after living many years out West working as a florist and stylist. The Hudson Valley is ancestral land in her matrilineal genealogy and is where she feels most grounded. Her passion is focused on reviving the historic Sweet family farm in Copake while transforming it into a hub for creating beauty, meaningful connections and gathering creative minds in harmony with the natural environment.
Sweet Flower Farm is a working flower farm, fruit orchard and home devoted to sustainable land management and inclusive community support. We operate as a venue for farm dinners, workshops in traditional craft, botanical and holistic healing, art, floral design and ecology — all surrounded by intentional, organic gardens, historic structures and a permaculture-informed, biodiverse landscape.

Our Approach

We are actively rewilding and restoring this land after a century plus of commercial crop and dairy farming. We are eliminating excess lawn by creating meadowscapes and layered forests using all Northeast Native species. We grow all our flower and fruit with organic and permaculture-informed practices to eliminate waste of resources while actively benefiting the soil, the pollinators and creatures who reside here. Our work is done with the highest intentionality of honoring the Earth and her inhabitants.

We strive to grow the most beautiful organic blooms with a special focus on native perennial plants. We believe in the power of nature’s beauty to uplift and energize us all. Our hope is that the visitors and collaborators on our farm are so enchanted by the beauty that it creates an even greater urge to care for and heal the land around us, in the Hudson Valley and beyond.

The Farm is located between Hillsdale and Copake in the Harlem Valley within the greater Hudson River Valley.
A scenic drive just 25 minutes from Hudson, Great Barrington and Lakeville.
Two hours North of NYC.

We offer direct sales of flowers to florists, stylists, and other creatives to be picked up at the farm weekly during the growing season. We sell to a local wholesale floral market as well.
